Pay your congestion charges here

On 29 September 2005, the Mayor confirmed, after consultation with stakeholders, business, other organisations and the public, the Variation Order for the western extension of the central London Congestion Charging zone.

The Variation Order extends the central London Congestion Charging zone, the 'boundary' of the zone is formed which there will be no charge to drive:

This comprises: Marylebone Road, Euston Road, Pentonville Road, City Road, Great Eastern Street, Commercial Street, Tower Bridge Road, New Kent Road, Kennington Lane, Vauxhall Bridge Road, Grosvenor Place, Park Lane,Edgware Road

The London congestion charge is a fee for some motorists entering the Central London area. As London is the largest city to have adopted a congestion charge model. The organization responsible for the charge is Transport for London (TfL), with Capita Group operating the scheme under contract. A payment is required each day when a chargeable vehicle enters the congestion charge zone between 7am and 6pm with a penalty payment required for non payment.

The scheme was the first large scale one in the United Kingdom and has been controversial with reported effects not only on traffic levels, but business activity and the local environment. Worldwide several cities have used the London scheme as a model for possible schemes, please check the details below:
